How much of it is here

Counted on 3 October 2026, Ranked holds 268,146 business records and publishes 10,356 ranking pages across 151 cities and 588 categories. Of those pages, 4,422 are base category and city rankings; the other 5,934 are narrower variants, such as cheap or luxury cuts of the same list, and they are deliberately kept out of the index so one answer does not appear under four addresses. These are publication counts, not counts of pages indexed by search engines. Base pages also need enough current evidence to qualify for indexing.

A model has read the reviews on 37,690 of the business records and scored what they say. That leaves 230,456 records carrying a name, a location and whatever Google published, and no reading of their reviews at all. The cities shown below are a selection of our coverage. A business Ranked has no record of is not thereby missing from Nigeria.

Places where our review analysis found something specific worth repeating, beyond a five-star score. The line under each name is what the analysis picked out.

What the regulators printed

Ranked keeps a copy of each of these registers exactly as it read them, so the reading can be checked later rather than taken on trust. Across 5 registers that is 4,098 names.

Regulator registers Ranked has read, the number of names each one printed, and the date it was read.

A name on one of these lists means the regulator printed that name on the date beside it. It is not a statement by Ranked that a licence is valid today, and a business missing from a list is not thereby unlicensed: these registers are maintained by hand and lag revocations, expiries and name changes by months, and a company can be printed under a legal name nobody uses.

Figures the regulators published

Ranked did not compute any of these. Each one is transcribed from a named report, with the date that report was published, and the full table sits on its own page.

Where we cover

Cities, ranked by Ranked coverage

The number beside each city is how many published base rankings have current category matches. Coverage is uneven; these counts do not measure search-engine indexing.

These 10 cities carry 1,725 of the 4,422 published base rankings on the site, 39% of them, counted on 3 October 2026.

How we rank

Nobody buys their way to first place.

Every business is scored on six things and paid placement is not one of them. Money buys a labelled slot, never a position. These are the weights, in force since 2026-07-16, and they are the same six numbers the dataset publishes for every page.

How often the order differs from Google's

Google's star rating and review volume are 62% of that table, so a reproducible score could still be a restatement of Google's opinion. Measured on across 6,308 published rankings, the business Ranked places first is not the highest Google-rated business on that page on 78.4% of them. On the other 21.6% it is the same business.

Where the order differs, what moved it was review volume on 69.4% of the disagreements and review recency on 20.5% of the disagreements.

Ranked reads the same public signals everyone reads. What differs is the weighting: how many people reviewed a business, how recently, and how complete its record is all carry weight that a star average does not. That is why the business a Nigerian should call first is often not the one sitting at the top of a rating.

How to read this page

  • A listing records that a business exists and what the public record says about it. It is a record, not a recommendation.
  • The verified tick means an owner proved control of the listing. It is earned on evidence, it proves control rather than quality, and it is not for sale at any price.
  • A register line is what that regulator printed on the day we read it, which is why the date sits beside it. Registers lag revocations and name changes, so we report what moved between two readings and leave the verdict to the regulator.
  • Ratings and review counts are Google's, carried with the date we read them. Where a review pattern looks planted, we say so.
